And the rain is with us...

Our first stop was Stotts Island Nature Reserve which is about 15kms west of Tweed Heads. We were woken by roosters that someone obviously dumped for a reason, we found out the reason... they crowed from about 3am.  When we woke it was to rain, surprise surprise, we know how it loves to follow us around.

We called into Bryon Bay for Alizah's birthday, enjoying a lovely walk on the beach ( in the rain).  Alizah found herself a rock in the shape of a heart.  We called into Lennox Head on our way to Yamba to have a look at the amazing view of the coast, arriving in Yamba about 4pm we set up just in time for the rain to start.
The Big 4 caravan park was awesome ( Alizah's words) it had a massive jumping pillow and a freezing cold water park that was still great fun.
The museum in Yamba was an eye opener with the guide showing me the Dead Man's Penny from the war, he told us the story of a mother who had four sons and had 4 Dead Man's Pennies hanging on her wall, it was really chilling.

Yesterday we went to Maclean which is a scottish town and all the powerpoles were painted in colours of Scottish family colours. We had lunch in Grafton and took a scenic route back to Yamba, I was pretty excited to go on a ferry in the car. First time for me ( the small things).
Today we left Yamba and heading to Coffs Harbour to see the Big Banana. YUMMY SMOOTHIES.  Coffs is really very beautiful, views were amazing, we would have loved a quick dip in the ocean but the winds were way to strong.

Drove out to Bellingen this afternoon to stay the night, so we can have  a big day of National Park walks tommorow in Dorrigo.

Ready for the adventure

Fun times in the country

Well, finally the day is almost finally here.... we are leaving from Helidon where we have spent the last 26 days tiling, cleaning, packing and doing adjustments to the van and most of all enjoying country life. Tomorrow 26th April we are heading for Yamba NSW with a couple of stops in between.

The kids have had a fantastic time catching up with cousins and friends we didnt get to see all that often.  We have been to the Cobb & Co museum in Toowoomba, which had a special kids science day, the kids loved the experiements.  The Darling Downs Zoo the tiny monkeys were probably our favourites, Fishing in pops dam where Levi encounted his first tick bite.and a car show at Willowbank Raceway and so many other fun things. Zara learnt to drive our tractor on or other rental property and she thought she was pretty clever. And Kaine is just enjoying everthing.

Well heres hoping I haven't forgot anything :)
